At Kendall, we believe in standing beside organizations and individuals who work tirelessly to build stronger, safer communities. On Friday, April 11, 2025, we were proud to sponsor the 4th Annual Faces of Courage Benefit Gala at the Boise Centre ballroom—an evening dedicated to resilience, healing, and creating lasting change.
This year’s gala was nothing short of powerful. Guests gathered for an evening of storytelling, connection, and critical fundraising to support survivors of domestic violence and the resources they need to rebuild their lives. The ballroom was filled with a shared purpose, to uplift voices of courage and to stand against the cycles of abuse.
The night’s keynote speaker, Katrina Brownlee, brought the room to its feet. A survivor of unthinkable trauma, Katrina shared her journey of being shot 10 times by her abusive fiancé, an incident that nearly took her life and forever changed its course. But Katrina didn’t stop at survival. She relearned to walk, overcame homelessness, and joined the NYPD to make a difference from the inside out. Retiring as one of the department’s highest-ranking detectives, she now dedicates her life to mentoring young women through her nonprofit, Young Ladies of Our Future. Her story, soon to be detailed in her memoir And Then Came The Blues, left a lasting impression on every heart in the room.
We were honored to be a part of this unforgettable evening and to stand with a community of advocates, survivors, and changemakers. Supporting events like Faces of Courage aligns with our mission at Kendall to not only drive change—but to be the change.
To those who attended, donated, and shared space with us: thank you. Together, we are creating a future where every voice is heard, and every survivor has the chance to rise.
